Seasonal Clinic

Rattlesnake Avoidance

Clinics begin each spring. Your dog learns to recognize a rattlesnake and get away from it.

Why it matters

A desert reality for every dog owner

Rattlesnakes are part of life in the desert. They turn up in backyards, on golf courses, along hiking trails and in neighborhood parks, and a curious dog will almost always go nose-first to investigate.

In a short, controlled session, your dog learns to recognize rattlesnakes by sight, sound and scent, and to move away instead of moving in. It is one of the simplest things you can do to protect a dog that spends time outdoors.

Dogs who complete our clinics learn to give rattlesnakes a wide berth on their own, so you can enjoy hikes, backyards and golf-course walks with real peace of mind.

By the numbers

Why it is worth it

150,000

Bites a year

An estimated 150,000 dogs are bitten by venomous snakes in the U.S. every year.

25×

Higher risk than people

Dogs are about 25 times more likely than people to die from a venomous snakebite, according to the Animal Medical Center of Southern California.

40%

Are severe

About 4 in 10 rattlesnake bites are severe, causing major swelling and pain that need emergency care.

Thousands

In vet bills

Emergency care with antivenom and hospitalization often costs thousands of dollars, even when a dog recovers well.

The safest bite is the one that never happens. Avoidance training gives your dog the instinct to stay away in the first place.

Two clinics per season

Why we recommend two clinics

The second clinic reinforces the first, so the avoidance holds up through the whole snake season. We recommend two clinics per dog each season, twice a year.

Single Clinic

$175

Per dog, per clinic.

Full Season

$300

Per dog, for both of the season's clinics when paid upfront.

Clinic dates are announced in early spring. Contact us to get on the list.
